(This is kind of dark, kind of gore-ish [robot-gore])
Captain grunted, flying backwards as the giant hit him like a trainload of bricks. As her shoulder rammed into his side, his computer droned out numerous damage reports, warning him he was in critical condition. "Come on, Tall'un! I'm your friend, stop this! Don't you remember me?!" He shouted, trying to snap his former friend out of the control he thought she was under. The giant's red eyes turned to him, a nasty smile somehow reflected in their blood-colored depths.
"Why would I stop? This is what I'm supposed to do!" Tall'un replied, shrugging her massive shoulders as she advanced on him, her towering fifteen feet bearing not a single scratch from their fight. She leaned down, grabbing Captain's shoulders in one hand, and threw him lazily across the arena, much to the Gundam Force's dismay. The only conscious member of the Gundam Force watching, Shute, called out from the stands. "Captain! You've gotta get up! You can win this! You have to!"
Captain turned to stare at him as his giant opponent stopped to watch their exchange. "I'm trying my hardest, Shute, but she's just too strong! The size difference is a huge disadvantage!"
"I know you can do it, Captain!" Shute called, punching the air.
"Soul Drive, activate!" Captain commanded, feeling the warmth as the flame inside him flared up, and getting up, ready again to attack.
"What, are ya gonna blind me or somethin'?" Tall'un asked, looking at Captain's fist as he came in for the punch. As he hit her, he heard her grunt in surprise as she was forced to back off, but she never let down her attack, instead working her way under him and hitting him upward, knocking him unconscious as he hit the ground. As Captain lay on the ground, he had a flashback of when the two warriors first met...
********************************************
Captain was sitting in a chair on guard duty, watching as the troops brought in a new prisoner. The first thing he noticed was her voice. It was definitely female, with an accent he almost couldn't understand. She seemed to be joking with the guards, as if she wasn't worried about going to prison at all. The next thing he noticed was her size. She literally had to duck through a ten-foot door! As She ducked into the cell, she nodded a greeting to Captain.
" Hey. The name's Tall'un. 'And you are?"
"Captain. Captain Gundam. Why are you in here? You don't seem like the trouble-making type."
"I'm not. Someone framed me, and they believed 'im. Anyways, it doesn't matter. One of my friends is a really good detective, an' he's on the case as we speak. I'll probably be outta here by nightfall." Tall'un joked, settling down a bit.
"Oh, Shute! There you are!" Captain said, turning to see his friend.
"Yeah, I heard there was a new prisoner, but I never knew what happ-whoa! Who is that?!" The young kid asked, looking over into Tall'un's cell.
"I'm Tall'un. Don't worry, I'm not as bad as I look." Tall'un said, her huge shoulders quivering with a slight chuckle. "I'm in here from a misunderstandin' is all."
"Ah, I see." Shute said, a little nervously.
*************************************************
Captain woke to something huge and red-eyed blocking his vision.
"Finally, ya decide to wake up." Tall'un said, picking him up easily.
"Where's Shute? What have you done with him?!" Captain asked angrily, trying to break free of the giant's strong grip.
"First of all, that's a pointless effort." Tall'un replied, tightening her grip around him. "Second of all, I didn't do anything to him. The others took him an' all the rest o' your friends somewhere, an' told me to wait for you to wake up. I did what they told me to, an' now I'm gonna take ya to 'em. Simple as that."
As they walked, Captain's memory banks replayed the flashback over and over in his head. He struggled to make sense of it all, only five weeks ago she had been the most amiable and gentle Gundam he'd known, and now she was almost the exact opposite. And her eyes! They were never red like that before....Were they?
As he thought, he looked around, and from what he could tell, they were headed someplace underground, most likely under the arena.
"Why are you doing this, Tall'un? Who told you to do this?"
"I don't really remember their names. At least, not right now." Tall'un shrugged, causing her whole upper body to move. "You probably know 'em, though. At least, they know you. It'd be a good idea to shut up now, it's early in the morning, and they hate getting woken up."
As Tall'un pushed the gigantic wooden door open, it revealed a dungeonlike area, with cells in the back. Each one of the cells held a Gundam Force member: Bakunetsumaru, Zero, GunEagle, even GunPanzer and all seven GunDivers. In the last cell, Shute lay unconscious on the small metal bed in the back.
"Let me go! What've you done to them?! If you've hurt them at all I'll-"
"Oh, stop your whining, Captain." the familiar voice belonged to none other than Zapper Zaku.
As Captain turned towards his enemy, he saw all three of the trio of Dark Axis commanders sitting around a table, with a small squad of Zakos behind them, cowering in fear, most likely because of Tall'un's presence in the room.
"So," Grappler Gouf asked, "you'll do what if we've hurt them? It doesn't look like you can do much right now, he he!"
As the group laughed, Tall'un moved to Shute's cell and opened the door. As she did, Shute's eyes snapped open, and he slipped under her out of the door. She grunted in surprise, dropping Captain inside the cell and closing the door. Somehow managing to jump, the hulking Gundam suddenly landed in front of Shute, causing him to run into her. "Now, don't run. That's how you got knocked out last time." Tall'un said, bringing Shute to Captain's cell and putting him in. After she locked the door, she tossed the keys to the trio, where they landed in the center of the table. Grappler Gouf grabbed them and clipped them into a space on his waist. She looked to the ceiling, and moments later there was a thud, as if a ship had landed.
"Company." she said simply, moving towards the door. Grappler nodded, and she left.
"Don't worry about it, Captain. She'll....take care of it for you." Zapper said, shrugging with mock innocence.
As the trio laughed, Captain could barely make out Chief Haro's voice, but because of how much ground must have been between them, his words were jumbled.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About an hour later, after listening to blaster fire and lots of booms and bangs from above, everyone turned to the door as Tall'un opened it. Behind her was a detail of Zakos, escorting a handcuffed Chief Haro and Princess Rele into the room.
"Wow, we're getting a lot of company today." Tall'un joked as the newest prisoners were added to Captain and Zero's cells, respectively. "So, what're we gonna do with 'em, anyway?" she asked, turning to Zapper and his gang.
"Most likely torture, maybe some beatings here and there." Grappler replied casually.
"Ah, that sounds fun." She replied, slightly raising one shoulder. It almost sounded like she was sarcastic, but one couldn't tell. Captain noticed there was still a red tint to her eyes, but most of their previous blue hue had returned. They now no longer matched her armor, which was bloodstained almost too much to be recognizable.
As the Dark Axis trio left the room, Zapper called back, "Watch the prisoners! We don't want them getting away, now do we?"
"Nah. We'll miss out on the fun that way." Tall'un replied, shrugging her massive shoulders. As she stretched, Captain noticed one of her shoulder blades was dislocated: it was the same one she had rammed him with. As she leaned against the wall, she winced slightly.
"I suggest you get some rest, all of you. It'll probably get a whole lot worse tomorrow."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon as dawn broke, Captain was wide awake. He looked to the far wall outside of his cell to see Tall'un still sleeping, snoring loudly. As Shute woke up, he groaned a bit, holding his head.
"I feel like I got run over by a truck..."
"You practically did." Captain said, turning to look at him. Almost as if roused by Captain;s voice, Tall'un woke up.
"Alright, I'm up." She said into a communicator. Grappler's voice buzzed back, almost blocked out by static: "Well, get them out here."
"Get who?"
"Whoever you wanna fight."
"Alright, then." She walked over to Captain's cell, then Zero's and Bakunetsumaru's. "I don't think they want you hurt, Shute, but you can come if you want." She opened the doors and walked away, they had no choice but to follow her. As she rounded the last bend, the giant Gundam turned to face them. "I guess we're gonna fight again. See you out there." She stretched, wincing as her shoulder twinged, and walked outside. As she disappeared, Captain noticed one of her knees was sparking as well. He hoped he could use them to his advantage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When the trio made their way outside, Shute had already found a place in the stands of the colosseum-like arena. He nodded at the three as they passed, showing his confidence in them. Captain turned to the others while they had time to talk.
"She has a slight injury in her shoulder, and also on one knee. Maybe we can use that to our advantage..."
"Yeah, but how are we going to get behind her to do it?" Baku asked.
"We'll have to find a way-AUGH!" Captain screamed in pain as Tall'un slammed into him from behind. He saw sparks flying from her shoulder where they had collided, and heard her grunt slightly, suddenly releasing him. She turned to face the others, who were attacking her, and Captain saw his chance. Shute helped him activate the Soul Drive, and as his fist connected with her shoulder, it was her turn to scream in pain. Her entire right arm went limp, and for a second all she could do was stare at her shoulder in shock. Then she growled, turning to face Captain, and Zero and Baku took their chance. "NOW!"
As the two attacks hit her knee, she collapsed onto the ground, holding out her left hand for support.
Her eyes showed a mix of shock and fury. "How-How did you do that?!" She asked, panting heavily as all three Gundams came together in front of her.
"It's called teamwork, Tall'un!" Shute said, standing on the edge of the rail. "Stop fighting for the Dark Axis, and you could be a part of it!"
"What if I don't want to be part of it, human?" Tall'un growled, barely giving him time to answer before she hit the three distracted Gundams like a red-eyed train wreck.
As she sent them flying, Tall'un's knee gave out again, and she fell sliding a few feet on the ground before coming to a stop. "Argh! Rarh!" she snarled, getting back on her feet slowly and pulling out the oversized Claymore she had strapped to her back.
But the two-handed weapon was too heavy for her to wield one-handed, and her left arm gave way, causing the great weapon to slip from her grasp. She backed up a few steps, looking at her damaged, bloodstained state, and questioned herself, " But what....what if I do want to be a part of it? Of...a team." She looked up, her eyes piercing through Captain's, straight into his Soul Drive. "Would you...would you guys really....allow me to become part of your team?"
"Of course! All you have to do is come with us!" Shute replied, almost falling off of the rail.
"Yes, but first we need to rescue your friends." Tall'un said, nodding. "I guess all I needed was some sense knocked into this thick skull." she chuckled, tapping the side of her head for emphasis.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Here, these are the keys. Go set your friends free." Tall'un said, handing the keys to Shute.
"What about you?" Shute asked, looking up at her.
"I'll meet you outside."
"HEY! What are you doing?!" a shout came from the other end of the hallway, where the Dark Axis trio was standing.
"Shute, run." Tall'un said quietly, moving to stand in front of him.
"But what about-"
"NOW!" the giant yelled, already launching her first attack on the Dark Axis.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shute and his teammates came out of the dungeon cells when the noise receded, to find all three Dark Axis bots, plus a battalion of over one hundred Zakos, lying motionless, littering the hallway.
"They're not dead, but they'll be stayin' down for a good long while." GunPanzer chuckled. "What I wanna know is, where's the cause of all this?"
"Up here." Tall'un replied, sitting on a ledge impossibly high above them. She was damaged, but grinning through it for all she was worth. She leaned on one elbow, looking at the damage. "Dang, I must've gotten pretty mad." she wondered, jumping down. Her knee sparked again, but she didn't show if it gave her any pain. "Come on, the others are this way." she directed, heading out through a maze of tunnels.
After everyone was on the ship, introductions were made, as well as repairs...
