Alexis couldn't help but feel she was fighting a losing battle. Standing up, she pondered a moment of examples that had the same problems as the dragon. True they weren't exactly same stories, but very similar. She brought one hand up to support her opposite elbow as her chin sat at the other hand. "What about Ironhide...Sideswipe...Hotshot... They all had the personality of a kid a long time ago. You don't have to admit it to even know. But look where they are now? Everyone grows, and it takes those that are around them to help that progress. People make mistakes, its' human nature here. And you bots' aren't any different." She looked at the femme, meanwhile spacing out to way back when, when Hotshot had tried so many attempts to please Optimus only to be brought down and frustrated. When Optimus had past for the very first time in her human-span life, Hotshot was left in charge, and it was simple crash for the 'bot. Until Scavenger and everyone else knocked sense into him. Bitter, harsh memories, only to lead the new and happy moments. "Do you even know how reckless Hotshot was when he first came here?" she questioned with a light smile.

Blazestorm shrugged slowly. In truth, she only knew a bit of Hotshot's history from Spiritimus herself, who had known Hotshot since her Academy days, days that were long since in the past. She had only heard of him being a reckless and determined young mech who had what it took to be a leader in Optimus's optics, but ignored all benefits just to help out others and that was it. Blazestorm was still too young to even understand everything, but, despite that, she had vast intelligence that shocked her comrades and companions. If it hadn't been for her knowledge of the Decepticon base when she and the other United Heroes were looking for Spiritimus, they would have ended up ambushed or even trapped like rats in a maze. Still, now that they were out of the danger zone, she felt as useless as a newborn kitten or puppy. "I can only partly guess," she said softly. "But I only know bits and pieces of details on him. Spiritimus only said she knew him as a close friend back in her Academy days, but she rarely spoke of it. Not even Leohawk or Starblaze said much of it either."

The small smile widen a bit, Alexis had finally found something to counter the argument. "In all truth...from what I know about Hotshot... When they arrived on Earth, he was still a rookie to Optimus's expectations. He acted just like a kid, even played games around the base with my other two friends- human children. Red Alert didn't appreciate it much..." "Hotshot did alot of reckless things back then. He even also got himself killed, Sideswipe, and even brought Optimus into danger at some points." The remembrance of Wheeljack's first appearance on Earth and the tragic hostile motives toward Sideswipe, she couldn't help but wonder of the 'What if's. The there was the battle that sent Hotshot into statis lock. And the popular time of when she was around when he was stomping madly around the base due to Optimus's 'departure'. But then again, its' all the matter of growing up. Even Sideswipe had his fair share of loses.

Blazestorm, for once, felt a small smile creeping onto her lips. She had to force it a bit to come through. The tugging at the corners was almost impossible to miss because it was so small and barely noticeable. "I guess he and I can sort of relate in character and personality," she said. "Even though he is much older than me in human standards, we're only half the same. I've... endangered Spiritimus so many times, I think matched how many times Hotshot has driven to prove himself to others." The young femme took a deep breath even though she did not even need to breathe. For some reason, she couldn't help but feel guilty for what had happened back when everything had changed forever. "I... I didn't mean to act so hostile," she sniffed. "I didn't mean to cause havoc to my friends and cause the Decepticons to bring forth Nephthys Prime. I'm so sorry. I was a fool. I let my temper get the best of me, I shouldn't have run off and caused Spiritimus to get captured. I didn't mean to!" She couldn't help but whimper in fear and sadness. It was all because of her Spiritimus was now in such a poor condition. If only she hadn't met them or run off like that just to prove herself to her peers that she was not useless to them as well gain respect from her mother-figure. "I'm so useless," she mumbled to herself. "Purus and Fenix are right. I am nothing but a worthless piece of garbage that only has the brains of a mere human child. A child that can barely walk!" Without thinking, she wiped a tear from her optics as they streaked down her cheeks.

"You're not useless. You just need to learn a few more things, learn from your mistakes" Alexis encouraged. She stood up and placed a hand on the dragons' forearm. "Trust me. You're not different from anyone else. Everyone goes' through it in some form." It wasn't long before Alexis became distracted. In the distance, something was in the sky, disturbing the gleam from the sun. She walked toward the cliff edge to see if she could make out the strange object. It was going straight for the base. "Blazestorm... is there any news of another Decepticon attack anytime soon..." Alexis questioned lightly, not finding the object as friend, but foe.

Blazestorm could only accept the gentle touch of the human. She was actually glad that she had spoken to her and not Ultra Magnus. Magnus had been kind enough to open up to her to give her some comfort, but it wasn't as comforting as Alexis's and it beats better than having to face the annoyed side of the blue and white 'Bot. Blazestorm was almost shocked of the question. She hadn't expected that one, but she had heard Rodimus mention something about being prepared should the moment actually come. "Well to be perfectly honest," she answered, "I only heard Rodimus saying something about being on alert for any Decepticon activity. We're in a weakened position due to our commanders being so badly injured, but we're staying on our toes. Why?" Much to her dismay, Blazestorm instantly sensed the disturbance in the air and the sound of metal cutting through the atmosphere. Only her acute sensors could pick that up and she really didn't want to look up. She just hoped she was wrong. 'Sometimes I hate being right,' she thought quietly.

Alexis took another moment to ponder, staring off into the distance of the object and its' fallen path that directed itself mear yards away from the hidden base entry. Whatever it was, Autobots didn't fly unless they had a maximal form. And this certainly wasn't a bird or dragon. Nor was it a spaceship. The only other option was a Decepticon. "Someone...Someones' heading for the base! We have to get down there!" Alexis dawned, turning to the dragon in panic.

Blazestorm didn't need to be told twice. As soon as the words left Alexis's mouth, the red and silver dragon shifted to her dragon mode, her tail twitching fiercely as she released a roar to challenge the threat. Without thinking, the young femme lowered her frame until she was lying flat on her stomach and her head was right in front of the human. Her blue optics were hard and cold, as if she was now focused on a battle that only she could handle. "Climb on," she insisted, "it's not safe for you to be out here, especially when there is a battle going on. If anything happened to you, I'm sure that your friend may not be very happy. Whoever he is." She suddenly found herself shaking a little. To her surprise, it was not with bloodlust and excitement like it normally was whenever a battle was about to take place. But the new feeling was that of determination and protective. Had the chat with Alexis and Ultra Magnus really made her feel more useful? "Do you think your friend will come back?" she asked softly. Her armour rattled a little as she shivered again.

Without a second thought, Alexis did as told, hopping among the dragons' back. Fitting herself to a more comfortable position, she nodded to let Blazestorm know that she was set. "Who, Ryan?" she answered the question with yet another question. She was completely dazed by the thought of an attack on the same day of her arrival. Nothing had changed over the years it had seem.

Blazestorm shook her head 'no'. It was not the answer she had wanted. She'd hoped Alexis had seen through her question, but the answer had been different. She didn't know of a human named Ryan, but with the way Shadowflux had acted around the human he had called a partner, she had knew that was him, but she didn't know enough, not even his own name. "I was referring to your Decepticon friend," she replied quietly. She spread her wings and took off into the sky. She didn't say a word for a moment as she soared higher and higher so that she could get a clearer view of the world that was below her. The sky was her home much more than the ground was and sometimes she wondered if she could sleep on the wing some time. She hadn't tried it before, but she would be happy to. She finally landed on the ground and lowered herself once more to allow Alexis to climb off. The moment she did, Blazestorm was quick to bury her head in the human's chest. She didn't need words to say that she had enjoyed the conversation and she wanted to thank Alexis for listening. "Thank you," she whispered so that only Alexis could hear her. She just hoped that no one else noticed that she was getting too soft.

"Oh... I... don't know..." Alexis quietly replied while in flight. Upon the landing and small nudge of gratitude, Alexis only smiled. She gave the dragon a small brush on the nose before backing up and allowing the dragon to do as business called. Whatever it was that landed only yards away, the Autobots had to be warned, or atleast the intruder itself. "Be careful but be strong, Blazestorm" Alexis kindly encouraged, taking the necklace at hold again.

Blazestorm nodded her head as she took a step back. But as she did so, she wondered what the object was that her new friend was holding. However, she was quick to dismiss the thought as she turned her gaze up to the sky where the intruder was before it was touching down. Growling deeply in her chest, the young femme spread out her wings once again and took off into the sky in a cloud of dust. But she was quick to stop as she gazed down at Alexis with her blue optics. For the first time since her creation, they were soft and filled with a promise to both her friends and to her family. "I'll be back before you know it," she told Alexis. "Just tell someone I'm off dealing with the threat or whoever it may be." With the wave of her taloned hand, the red and silver femme took off once again to go and face the intruder. This time, she wasn't doing it to prove herself to her peers, but to do what she thought was right and not out of anger or rage.

Alexis nodded, then as the dragon disappeared into the sky, turned and headed for any possible cover until she knew well enough that the threat was gone. She had remembered the last time she paid visit to the base, long before Ryan even knew about it. Her injury. His disappearance after Blackblade's death. Unpleasant memories.
Not far from the base landed the crimson unnamed. Transforming, he quickly detached his sword from his wing, and swung it out as it snapped to one. The red blur aura forming just as quick, he was in no time for games.

Blazestorm appeared right before the mech and hovered right in front of his frame. She could only stare at him with her sky blu optics. Optics that only stared with a cool gaze that was nither friendly nor hostile. She was determined to find out who the stranger was, but she only knew details of him from her commander and not enough to know who he really was. Rumours of him but not his name. "Who are you and what do you want?" she demanded in a stern voice. Just like the stranger, Blazestorm was also in no mood for games. She seemed just as ready to kill him as much as he was determined to get it over and done with. "If you're here for a fight, I'll be happy to give you one." And just to prove her point, the dragoness edged forward, her teeth now bared in a threatening manner.

He wasn't startled of the dragons' quick appearance. In fact, he had expected one, rather it had been Spiritimus herself, or the crazed bombatic from the most recent battle. "Out of my way, Autobot. My business is none for you but your leader." Optics holding only warning, Starscream couldn't help but had an edged feeling about this femme. It was almost as if he knew the answer she was to give right away would be no.
